Waste Heat Recovery

Efficient conversion of low temperature thermal energy to electricity is inherent to Terrajoule’s breakthrough in storage cost.  As a result, Terrajoule opens up widespread new opportunities in economic conversion of waste heat to electricity, especially below 5 MW (electrical) where turbine and Organic Rankine Cycle solutions are economically challenged.  Opportunities include a wide variety of industrial processes.

In addition, Terrajoule can increase the efficiency of internal combustion (IC) engines by adding a steam bottom cycle.  This means that diesel engines, natural gas-powered engines and rapid-ramp gas turbines can achieve efficiency approaching that of larger combined-cycle power plants.
